Dino determina afastamento de sobrinho do governador da presidência do TCE

Em uma decisão firme em defesa da ética republicana e da integridade das instituições de controle, o ministro do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), Flávio Dino, determinou o afastamento por 180 dias de Daniel Brandão da presidência do Tribunal de Contas do Estado (TCE) do Maranhão. Daniel é sobrinho do atual governador, Carlos Brandão (MDB).

A medida cautelar faz parte de um rigoroso inquérito relatado por Dino no STF. A investigação apura suspeitas de corrupção, desvios de recursos públicos e a possível relação com o assassinato do empresário João Bosco Sobrinho, ocorrido em 2022, em São Luís. A Polícia Federal aponta indícios de que o crime estaria ligado a uma suposta cobrança de propina que envolve empresas familiares e agentes públicos.

Em sua decisão, o ministro destacou a importância de proteger o caráter técnico e moral do tribunal de contas maranhense. Dino apontou que há fortes indícios de que o investigado utilizou de suas funções públicas para blindar sua identidade nas apurações. “Um órgão independente de controle externo não pode ser presidido justamente por uma pessoa que figura no centro de investigações sobre um homicídio”, asseverou o ministro.

O caso chegou à Suprema Corte após suspeitas de tentativas de interferência política na investigação, que envolvem também o senador Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA) e o próprio governador Carlos Brandão, apontado como suposto líder de organização criminosa. Todos os citados negam as irregularidades. A defesa de Daniel Brandão declarou que repudia as acusações e que elas são absolutamente inverídicas.
